For the Love of Apps 1

So to share my favorite app.  I don’t think I can pick one favorite. Most all the apps we use are FREE because our school does not have extra money to buy apps. I am always looking for new creative apps that we can use in the classroom. I just happen to find an awesome app yesterday and it is my new favorite app. It was free for a limited time, but I would say would be worth the 99¢.

For the Love of Apps 2

iFunFace I downloaded it and have been playing with it and making some fun videos It reminds me of the website we used to use called Blabberize. We stopped using it because it became to complicated and you can only have so many videos on and your space is used up. We used it to make these projects in the past I am excited to use it again this year with our important poems.  I also am thinking of lots of other ideas for it.

Here is a link to the free template we use for our important poems.  Based on The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown.  Enjoy!  Even if you don’t get the app you can still get the template.

My students loved to use apps to practice skills but they also loved to use them to create projects. They enjoyed creating and sharing their projects with our classroom.  It was exciting to see how they light up when their project was being shared.

For the Love of Apps 4 Doodle Buddy is a free app that can be used in many ways.  We used it to practice spelling words during Daily 5.  We used it to publish some describing poems during our Poetry Unit.  You can download a free template on my Teachers Pay Teachers store

  1. Has anyone written a grant to try and get ipads? My credit union gives away grant money to educators here, but I have never written one so I am not sure how to do it. I would love to get even one ipad for my room from this! If you have any ideas, please let me know.
