This is my first Fiction Friday linking up with Teaching Theif also a few freebies for you to enjoy with your Skippyjon Jones’ books. Okay I am obsessive to say the least. I bought a few of the Skippyjon Jones books, note cards and Skippy himself a few weeks ago at Kohl’s. I told myself, “You already have Skippy Lost in Spice (in paperback) so you don’t need another copy.” Well, I didn’t really know that the Kohl’s I shopped at didn’t have all the books. So after finding that out there were 5 books and not only 3, I had to order the others online. (to save myself from hitting all the Kohl’s stores to find the books) I have been working hard on some activities to do with with books. I have recently joined the Teachers pay Teachers store. Every item I have so far is free so you can check it out and download away. I want to launch my first paid item next week. It is Skippyjon Jones Book Scavenger hunt cards. I am so excited to use them with my new class of kiddos. So if you haven’t read any of the stories. Skippyjon Jones is a cat who has big ears and wants to be a Chihuahua. They all start out with Skippy getting into trouble, then Skippy goes on an adventure in his closet and they always end up with him back at home and things are pretty good. They have lots of Spanish words that can be figured out using context clues or inferring. I just love his Spanish Accent.
To kick off my new adventure of the Teachers pay Teachers store I
want to have my first give away. I am hoping to get 50 followers on my blog by next
Friday. If I get the 50 followers on my blog I will give away some Skippyjon Jones
ears and my first paid item with it for free.
Aren’t they just adorable. I think they would look really cute with
the Skippyjon Mask item I just put on the store. The mask template has three masks on a page. I have a Lone Ranger mask that I looked at to make a similar copy that would look more like the mask Skippy wears. I wanted to put the mask on a stick, but it didn’t look so much like a mask so I cut about a 1/2 inch strip of black paper and attached to both sides and then you can staple it in back.

The picture above shows a soon to be Second Grader modeling the mask. The picture below is of my class mascot
Spotty because he loves Skippyjon and wants to be like him.

Follower 59. I found your blog through Crayons and Curls on Facebook. I'm a homeschooler and I love following teacher's blogs, especially ones about technology in the classroom, so I can keep up with what's going on with education out there. Thanks for hosting this awesome giveaway! We are about to have a Skippyjon Jones birthday party here in a few weeks, provided I'm able to pull off an El Skippito Friskito cake 🙂
