I’m linking up with Jodi at Fun in First to talk about my favorite back to school activity. I love to do a get to know you game where students get name of kids who have the same things in common with each other. It is a mailbox activity that I copied years ago and the kids always love to play it. I also love singing this fun song called First Day from Mr. Billy’s Playground CD. I typed up the song lyrics and print them off for the students. We highlight the rhyming words after we sing the song a few times. You can get a copy of the lyrics for free on my Teachers pay Teachers store.
Amanda at Teaching Maddeness is giving away a HearAll Assessment Recorder from Learning Resources. I don’t know about you but I have really been wanting to win one of these. Head on over to sign up if your interested.
I have been working on activities to do with my Reading Groups this next year. I made Story Dice a fun little game where you roll the dice and answer the question for the number you roll on the dice. You can get your copy here for free on my Teachers pay Teachers store. Can’t wait to use it with my students this year.
