Green Screen with Green Bottles

Did you know you can do a green screen project without a green screen? A green bottle is all you need to make this spooky project.  Add any photo or video you have taken to the project and it looks like you are in the bottle. Follow the steps in this post to make your own.

This project can be part of a creative writing project for the month of October. Think of the project you want to create to think about what kind of photos or videos you want to take.

Some ideas might include… How I got stuck in the witches jar. What a witch uses to make her potions. The witches brew, etc.

If you don’t want to make it spooky you could bottle up your favorite fall books by taking pictures of the covers and adding them to the jars. Just export each photo from the green screen app and combine them in PicCollage.

Green Bottle

Step One:

Find a green bottle and wash the label off. If you can’t wash off the label you can also type some text over the label to make your bottle look like it has a new label.

Any of the bottles in the photo above work well. Olive Oil, Bath and Body Soap, Sprite or 7up, or after shave are some you may have around your house. You can also use a clear bottle and add green food coloring water to get the same effect.

Step Two:

Take a photo or video of what you want to be in the bottle. Maybe you want your whole body, your head, a body part such as a foot or finger. Sometimes around this time of year there are even special effects or filters you can add to your photo to make them look more spooky. You also need to take a photo of the green bottle. Maybe you want to put it on a shelf or table and add some other spooky props.
