Thanksgiving and Christmas Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping Math Games

$5.00

This pack includes 7 different games covering Common Core Standards 2.OA.2, 2NBT.5, 2NBT.6, and 2NBT.7

All full color games are print and play. They require a dice, game cards and a pencil. I usually put my games in a plastic sleeve and store in a 3 ring binder for easy pull out and play. I try to make my games easy to play with not a lot of prep required because I don’t have a lot of time to cut out and laminate game pieces and they are also hard to manage and store.

Thanksgiving games include 3 different games to practice addition with regrouping and the harder addition facts with answers up to 18.

Collect a Thanksgiving Meal-Students will add numbers on their score card depending on which items they land on throughout the game. The player with the most points wins. There are 4 different game card and 4 different point value cards which makes a great variety of answers. This is great for a center or copy multiple copies and have the whole class playing at once. This game practiced addition with regrouping.

The other 2 games include a variety of harder addition facts that add up to 18. In the whole class game that uses the addition fact game boards students will collect Pilgrims and Indians by coloring their card as they pass a game board. Students will be traveling to different game boards in the class while sending others from that game to the one they were at. It is a fun moving math practice game.

The 6 game boards can also be used at a center or math workstation where students will add up the answers on the board with previous answers to see who can get the most points. For example if they land on 4+9 which equals 13 they will write this on their score card then when they land on the next number which is 5+6 which equals 11 they will add this to the 13 for a total of 24 and then continue until they get to the finish.

The Christmas games include 4 different games similar to what is above only the game boards for the class rotation are practicing harder subtraction facts to 18. The workstation/center game will have them practicing subtracting answers then adding them together to get a total. For example 18-9=9 and then they land on 11-6=5. They will add the 9 to the 5 and continue doing this until they get to the finish to see who has the most points.

The Christmas set also includes a subtraction with regrouping game.

I am excited to practice these games with my students because we not only need practice on math facts, especially the harder facts to 18, but also addition and subtraction with regrouping.

Hope your students enjoy them and would love your feedback!
