Under the Sea

I am excited to tell you about a brand new app about Sea Animals by Hameray called Under the Sea. I was able to review the app and try it out a few days before it was released.  It has digital books in 6 different categories: Sea Turtles, Clever Crustaceans, Treachersous Tentacles, Ocean Oddities, and Spines, Stingers, and Teeth. The books are great for K-3. The text is simple and highlights as it read the words to you. It also has cool real underwater pictures and video footage to go along with each section. There are also matching games and some clipart characters to color. The best news is that it is FREE until December 11th.
I also thought of how I would love to use this app in the classroom.  I will have the kids listen to the books and write down some facts about one of the sea creatures using a template I made. You can download a free copy of the template by clicking here. Then they will color the clip art picture of their character and take a screen shot of it.
Sea Animals Digital App Free for a limited time- comment to win a free paper book 3Chatter Pix is another great new free app that they will use to record the facts that they learned from their books.
Here are a couple of sample Sea Animal Facts I made in Chatter Pix to give you an idea of what it is like. I used the Under the Sea animal coloring and then took a screen shot of it and cropped it in my camera roll. Any photo in your camera roll can be used with the Chatter Pix app. Chatter pix has effects for the photos and you can also add stickers and text. I added photo effects to both photos. I added text to the Sea Turtles and a funny sticker to the crab.

I also am able to give away a free book from the Underwater Encounters Series. They are very cool underwater books for grades 3-8 with a reading level of 2.5-3.5. Tap the link if you would like to learn more about the series. Feel free to comment below with your email and I will pick one winner to get a free book in the mail.  Thanks so much for following and good luck with your entry.
